A New Year

A New Year

Hello all my readers,

Welcome to the new year! I’ve been thinking of what to write about, and there are so many different topics popping in and out of my brain, but what I find visits the most is the thought that, New year, new me… except it’s not really a new me.

I love the idea of a New Me, but in honesty, it’s not a new me, it’s the me that’s been here, just super quiet because of one thing or another.  I am finding that the older I get, the less I want to keep myself contained. Don’t get me wrong, my husband knows me, but most of the other people do not.  I say most, as I have a few select friends who truly know and see me for who I am.  Someone who struggles to take leadership, but flourishes when it’s there.  One who wants to help the world, and still stay in the shadows.  Essentially an extroverted introvert.

Being one or the other- and extrovert or introvert is difficult for most people to do, but when you are stuck smack dab in the middle of both, it’s hard… so you just melt to the shadows of society.  My goal for this year is to truly be myself.  To show my children they have a momma they can be proud of. And that they to, can just be themselves.

Helping me with this, is watching fashion trends.  Now I will admit, some do not need to be repeated from the past, and some just do not make sense.  But there are some that do make sense, and I find super helpful. The first is the belt bag.  I wear mine as my purse most days.  A gorgeous shade of blue (which is my favorite color), and perfect to be able to wear across my body while carrying a baby and diaper bag.

it’s a way to keep just a little bit of me while also being mom.  Because let’s face it… most moms feel like they lose themselves when they have the kids with them.  They are just mom, not Tracy… they melt into the shadows so to speak.  So in all this rambling, I encourage you to make sure you are being your authentic self. Don’t just do what you think society wants; don’t allow yourself to melt into the shadows.  It’s crowded here, and there’s plenty of room in the sunshine.

Live your best life!
